What happens when an inmate is sent to the Santa Ana Jail?
When an inmate has been arrested by an Orange County officer or highway patrol, he/she will be sent to the central booking station for fingerprinting and booking. A bail will be set depending on the charges the inmate was arrested for. The default bail amount is based off of the Orange County Bail Schedule which is available to the public. During the booking process, the deputy processing the inmate in is in charge of verifying there are no outstanding warrants within the county, an out of county warrant or an out of state fugitive hold. Once the defendant is booked in and cleared of all warrants or holds, a Santa Ana Bail Bondsman can now process a rapid release. The inmate can either call a company from in custody by using the jail phones or have a family member or friend contact a bonding agency. After being released on bail, the detainee must check in and sign all of their legal paperwork with the company that they chose to work with. This does not mean that the convict is not liable for court, posting bail allows an individual that has a pending court date hearing fight their case from the outside.
How do I qualify for an Orange County Bail Bonds?
This question depends on the person in need. There are 2 terms and people involved while undergoing the bond approval process. An Indemnitor (also known as a cosigner assuming liability of the bail amount) and the Defendant (the client that is out on our bond). If a defendant does not qualify for his or her own release due to insufficient finances towards a down payment or a low credit score, we will ask for a cosigner. A cosigner is an individual that assumes responsibility of the detainee showing up to court. Great cosigners have a respectable credit score, work history without gaps of unemployment, living at the same address for many years and no out of state ties. Out of state connections usually result in red flags towards a Santa Ana Bail Bonds company since this means the client has access to leaving the state and missing court.
How do I locate and visit an inmate?
Finding an inmate that has been arrested and sent to a Santa Ana County Jail can be quite simple with the right information on hand. Make sure you have the detainees full name, date of birth, time and date of when he/she was arrested and the area they were arrested in. If you do not have this info do not worry, just call booking or use the Orange County Inmate Locator to find an inmate. The county database is uploaded every 30 minutes so remain patient if you have not had much progress. To visit a defendant you must find out which detention center they are in. Then contact that facility to find out what the visiting rules and regulations are. Normally you cannot bring in your phone, no food, no drinks, no alcohol, no drugs, no photography is allowed on jail grounds, clothing cannot be too revealing and you must wear shoes.
